coventry is 100% right . it's not an art car(what about the Giugaro designed Daewoo Kalos ?? ) . it's a car that has to get 4-5 peoples from point A to point B .. and most important . be very cheap . .. even my father wants one

[QUOTE=henk4]This is the advantage of having local production, using very cheap labour. Don't be surprised when you see other manufacturers move to eastern european countries, like BMW and Audi already did.
You may have your doubts about the quality of such cars, but in the countries where they are sold many people are capable of dealing with those and you see very many Dacia's and Oltcits still being driven around in Romania.

As long as i don't see it in the U.S we already have lots of cheep cars Toyotas, Hondas you know all Japanese cars .

Compared with this Toyota and Hondas are hugely expensive.
The Logan starts at 5000 Euros IIRC
    = ~$6,240
    Thanks for all the fish

I saw one of these the other day, and it appears to be nothing less than a booted Clio.

It gets the job done as simply as possible.

You in the way i used it was undefined and not directed at you personally

Did you actually read what I wrote ? Perfect for it's market. Perfect for it's intended market. As in eastern-Europe. I never said it was perfect for me nor for you. It's not aimed at the western market.

That's just a blatantly stupid comment.

    Hi
the car is perfect for somebody still riding a bicycle or a moped-
workers in east europe, middle east, Russia, China, South America-

and it will end up to come to West Europe and North America.

Marketing in West Europe is already decided by Renault's management.

why? because there are more and more people calculatung.
    and calculating means:
how many hours in a day do you really use your car, does it really work?
how many hours of a day does a car stand in a parking lot?

do i really need a car with
ac, stereo, 450hp, metallic paint, chrome, wide tyres
and all the whole caboodle we call sporty-
to have it standing in the parking lot for 23 hours 20 minutes a day?

don't get me wrong, i am an automotive engineer.

so tell me what is wrong if those Renault- Dacia people simply remember
    where it all begun?
when they remember André Citroen to build a car to carry
two farmers wearing their boots and a crate of eggs from A to B?

For a long time there have not been many cars causing
such a discussion as the Logan.

This car is brilliant- exactly what people around the world want.
    People who can calculate,
people who don't need a car as a substitute for a virility they don't have.

this is the car Volks-Wagen stands for, that company failed-
and that's why they are in big trouble today.

    greetings
    Betty

Renault is really THE car manufacturer of the 21st century IMO. Awesome design, worldwide coverage with Nissan and very good marketing skills and good engines too, especially the diesels.
