Dome builds a new Japanese closed-cockpit LMP1 car: the S102

Dome is a Japanese-based racecar constructor.

The new Dome S102, a closed-cockpit LMP1 car, has been revealed as an artist rendition. The final car will look different after wind tunnel tests and CFD.

    DOME CO., LTD.

Jan Lammers, winner of the 1987 1,000 km of Monza and the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans, has raced LMP cars from Dome for the past several years in the Le Mans Series and the FIA Sportscar Championship (series no longer running).

Should Comcast, which is buying NBC, have more motorsports coverage on VERSUS and now NBC? Does North America need a racing tv channel? Find the answer to that exact question on facebook.

Yeah but they stopped running this year due to being uncompetitive

Hopefully Dome can step up a lot more and give Jan the results he deserves!

Racing for Holland will almost certainly not run the new Dome, or any other car in 2008.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

is this from lack of funding or lack of effort?

Funding. Lammers has been short on it for several years already and the poor results of this year have further deteriorated his relationship with Dome. He is also busy running the A1 GP team, which seems to work much better for him. It would not surprise me, if he does show up at Le Mans, but it is not as certain as it has been in recent years.

    That's most likely.

Do you know if anyone will be running one of these? I thought its a promising looking piece, and Dome certainly has more credential than Epsilon Euskadi.....

It is entered for Le Mans. The Epsilon Euskadi is actually a hugely impressive machine. They just have a lot of learning to do, but it looks very nicely put together.
