    Thanks for the article Karabiner, I have an E28 535i (1986 build) so it's interesting to read what was thought about it when new.

    Heh, my first car was a Rover very much like that, only it was the SE model with a very very slushy 3-speed auto. I'd've kept it if it didn't break down every other week.. I still miss it sometimes.

    Every early December Auto Retro is held here, pretty much right next to my house. And sometimes there are SMs for sale, and I always think, what if I bought one? But then I think running it must be a bit of a nightmare...

    it is not, as long as you pick a car that got the aftermarket improvements, which are well known and well documented. Octane describes them all....

    Octane is a well made rag.

    I have only one issue but it was great.
