Though it is in the model code it still doesn't make sense to call a non-skyline car by a skyline model designation.

    Skyline R35 GT350

The G35 took on the name V35...the New GT-R took on the R35 name because its a GT-R...Although, its not a Skyline, and the other Skylines before it were called R32, R33, R34 and they werent GT-Rs, I dont know why non GTRs have the same code as GTRs, probably cause they're the same chassis...I dont see any place where they called the G35 an R35...the chassis code is V35...so thats what its called.

It still is losely based in the Skyline chasis and carries the R35 code in its designation apparently.

I think it's odd that they would switch the R-designation to a non skyline car, but it seems as if it's true. But really, theres no need to call it the R35 GT-R because it's the only GT-R.

    It isn't a Skyline GT-R, but it indeed is an R35 GT-R.

The chasis code is CBA-R35, or R35 for short.

I agreed, i just thought it was stupid that they swtiched models for their designation. I would still not call it an R35 personally
