That body kit is seriously ugly.

    And why no manual?

It's fugly, and the exhaust terminal is hideous.

and for the gearbox, it's a way of make the Veyron a little more profitable........

It's the new 7 speed DSG 'box.

More gears means you can get a better compromise between performance and fuel consumption.

I'm not techically into gearboxes, but what you say it's almost true, expect that if it was just like that, we would already have 15 speeds in a Fiat 500.
AFAIK more speed mean that each gear is littler than one of a 5 speeds, but in this way, each gear can handle less power, meaning less forces, if not properly developed.
Even being able to design a gearbox properly, too much speeds mean that the engine is likely often at high revs, which is good for the effiiency of the engine and so for the pollutant emissions, but not as good for as regards consumption levels, which can be lowered by other tricks.

Well it's the same gearbox that's available in the Golf, Passat, A3,... and this is the sports version. So I guess they thought it was appropiate.

it looks a little Kia Rio like that... Maybe it's because it's red. I saw a non-metallic blue and a non-metallic lime green Ibiza in Switzerland, they looked great, mind, I'm still not so keen on the back-end of any of the range, wierd lines and those lights...
