I watched the documentary posted by Matra. It is quite horrible management. How dumb should you be to build something before the financing is 100% covered.. sigh.. I can understand they want the track to be earning money year-round, but there must be different ways. I've never been to the Ring-werk but the concept in itself ain't bad. A museum and arcade can really be nice. However this is just like Autostad, way too big and superficial. The concept of huge shopping arcades maybe works in America, but certainly not here. Especially not if the prices are very high to pay for the building..

I really hope they can figure this out in the upcoming period.

^ it's the size of the place they built -- and then a casino !!
First time I walked thorugh it and saw the amount of staff it required to operate it my "back of an envelope" calculation clearly indicated it coudn't survive as a business.
MUST have been some very deliberate fraud for anyeon to sign up to it's construction !!

    Seperate the hotel/casino out.
    Seperate the restaurants out.
    Seperate the museum/theme park out.
    Seperate the "shopping mall" out.
Keep them ALL away from the F1 circuit and the 'Ring.

THEN let them stand or fall as businesses.
If any cross-funding is needed then make it up front and obvious.
The attraction to the environment is the 'Ring and so all the others should be paying THEM for anyone attending.
You dont travel hundreds of miles to sit in a replica of a 1950s bus and drive a simulation of the mountains
So the theme park should recognise the 'Ring and give a percentage of income to them !
NOT the other way round just because these sharks own the failing parts !!

The Ring is in the middle of nowhere, all those satellite activities will get visitors only when there are races, and once you have seen it you don't go there a second time. It was a failed business concept to start with. I'd like to see figures of the off-season occupancy rate of the Dorint Hotel for instance.

Was there last year during a non-race week and the staff out numbered visitors by AT LEAST 10 to 1

Must be a real ghost town when no tourist lap days out of season.

Been a club race weekend and even then the 'centre' was very quiet .... but Pistonklause busy

Leaked audit report from 2 years ago starting to surface now.
Definately if this was US or UK they'd be up on charges.
Not sure how German fraud law stands.

The problem is that the Eu is investigating, and the european court needs unreal amounts of time to solve anything . Problem is that motor enthusiasts don't have a lobby. If it was different, those guys would be in jail now. For quite a long time.

We do, and a might powerful one in fact.
Problem is they don't give a sh*t about the enthusiasts anymore, and especially not about things they can't control.

Sorry for all who wanted to do a Ring-Taxi at some point in their lives.

None this year and I don't see them returning in current climate and NAG management structure

I had no plans, but paying 349 for one lap in a Porsche does not stimulate me to create such a wish.

Especially when for the same amount of money you could rent a VW GTI or something even more powerful, and a 4 or 5 laps ticket.

    for sure.

190 euro for 3 in the Taxi was the best deal going.

    Looks like never again

UNLESS we all complain strongly enough to get the burden of the amusement arcade off the back of the loop !!!!

Let's hope not... the 'Ring isn't done yet. I'd like to have a beer or three with Sabine.
