Cars with euro 3

Hi everybody.
My Q is this: I want to bring a car from the States into Europe. My country asks for Euro 3 engine minimum. If the car doesn't have euro 3, then i bring it for nothing. Does any of you happen to know what are the engine codes that tells me from the start if a car has this euro 3 engine? All I know is that it has to have a code written on the engine starting with a combination of numbers and letters. Please help

What sort of car is it?

I don't know yet. It may be a ford mustang or a SUV, depends on what my friend can find for me.
