i think the vision version looks demented. lines don't look parallel and front facia looks warped. i prefer the look of the production version.

It isn't the same car, the concept and production cars do vary by quite a bit.

The general styling is carried over, but the concept looks smaller, with a much lower bootline, and the cabin further forward. the styling at the front is also less "fussy", but the proportions of the production car are better.

IIRC the concept wasn't going to feature the all carbon monocoque chassis - hence the projected price of around £150,000.

Neither of the modern SLRs carry the concept of the orignial 300 SLR, as that was a race car, roughly the equivalent of something like the Maserati MC12, wheras the modern cars are intended as continent crushing GTs.

The interior of the concept is better than the production car, which is too much like a normal Mercedes. It is a nice place to be, but doesn't feel that special. The extra bit of detailling from the concept would have been better.
    Thanks for all the fish

i think that the vision has more visual distinction form most of the other mercedes models which i think the slr lacks. it looks like an overinflated sl. this will prob disagree with most people but its what i think so there
