Whether or not there will be a C65 is a debate I still stay out of. Regardless, that car shown on the N'Ring is a C55 equipped with a special AMG Performance Package available only in Germany.

Attached are some pics taken around Christmas of 2004 from a French guy who went to AMG headquarters to buy one and was turned down (because he was from France .)

That must be the car, not a C65 AMG.

there won't be a C65, but there will be a C63..... hopefully with about 450HP....

When I wrote my text you have quoted there wasn't any official paper about the allnew 6.3 litre V8. My post is from 2004!

It is possible that it was one of the first testing programs for the new AMG V8 engine, no question about that, but there won't be a C63 AMG of the C-Class, you can buy today. I think it will come in the new model in 2007.

And if there would be enough space for the Kompressor it would be in it, I don't see a point why Merc wouldn't use it if it would be possible... Also because the engine would blow the M3 into next millenium with the Kompressor added and build into the C-Class (476hp vs 343hp is more than only a little bit)

Which is illegal in Europa AFAIK. It could be that AMG doesn't offer this car through it's dealer network in France but you can sure go buy one in Germany and import it to France.

cornering wise.. i'd have to agree.. M3 is a sport coupe afterall..
but I'd still take the C-AMG over the M3 any day... C55 (and hopefully C63 in the future) look so much better... just personal preference.. and really hate the new 3-series..
