    Damn it.

    Then a Zonda, a Zonda and a Zonda because it's the quintessential italian supercar. And a McLaren F1, the standard though, for the breakthrough it represented.

    Elan for the sublime handling. Aurelia because it's my kind of car, combining speed and comfort in a relatively light and well engineered package. Pegaso because it showed the world we could build cars. And the Talbot for the sheer beauty, with that who needs wind tunnels.

    The price, really terrible.
    I would have the new Lamborghini, that will replace the Mursielago.
    I think, it will be 700 horses, and the price within 400.000.

    How many of these stupid threads similar to this have been made? They are pretty useless as it is a rare day when people actually discuss their choices or explain why and there are discrepancies from list to list as time changes.

    So I shall ask, why did you select those Ferrer; ditto to you lowdrag?
    I still preferred to put the cars that I love and which don't necessarily fit my age group.

    The Alfa Romeo 8C 1939. The lines, the grace, the sound of the Vittorio Jano engine, the sheer fluidity of the car. I was lucky about 20 years back to be given a ride in one. I've been in some impressive machinery but the memory still sends a shiver down my spine.

    The Bugatti type 35 It's exquisite, a tour de force; the sheer quality of the car. I drove one on the A5 in England in 1989 and loved it. I've seen the engine dismantled and the quality of the engineering is beyond belief ofr the epoche.

    The Short nose D type. I prefer it to the long nose as I usually prefer the first rather than the last of a line. My flat floor E type for example over a V12. An XK120 over an XK150. But the D type changed endurance racing. Four disc brakes, the first car designed with areodynamics in mind by an aircraft designer, besides which I am a Jaguar fanatic and there has to be one in there somewhere! In my Ferrari 348 I followed Jim Wallis at the wheel of his works short nose at Donington and couldn't overtake, that's how good the car was.

    But the GTO Ferrari; 39 made, a car which is pure racing and pure purpose. Mythical and of any production car the most valuable. The howl of that V12 when used in anger. I seem to remember 6 racing together at the first Goodwood revival. For me, it is the epitomy of the cars of it's era, 1962.

    You know, I've driven some serious machinery over the years, but while I've not driven three of the above I would sell my soul for just one of them.

    My "list" is based mainly on looks. Not performance at least. Also, no particular order.

    * DeTomaso Pantera (GREAT looks and very different overall)
    * Delorean DMC-12 (VERY different and amazing styling. Shit car though =/)
    * Pagani Zonda (11 year old design that looks new. 'nuff said)
    * Ford Mustang ('71-'73)
