I do it with layers! Once I outlined my car, I made a new layer and then went to gradient tool and picked the color combo I wanted. Then I took the tool and drug it across the car the way I wanted it to go. Then I made that layer an overlay. Then I turned that layer off to made another new layer. Then I took the gradient tool again and picked a new color combo and then drug the tool across the car. Then I made that layer a softlight. I then went to the first gradient layer and went to filters and went to a plugin that will twist the layer the way I want it to go. That is how I got the custom paint job on the second car. I still used two gradient layers to get the two tone paint job I got.
