    converting kw to hp?

    Does anybody know how to convert (i guess it's metric) power ratings kw into horsepower?

    294 kw is how many horesepower???

    It depends what measure of horsepower you use but 1kw = 1.34hp (U.K./international) or 1.35hp (metric,DIN,PS).

    So 294kw is 394.26 or 399.72 horsepower.

    The easy general way is to calculate 3 Kw to 4 hp. It's a little inaccurate, but it's close.

    Googles calculator is pretty good for most things, sadly converting imperial power to metric however, does not appear to be one of them. Yet it'll tell you give you phi (aka the golden ratio) to about 8 decimal places. Odd.

    I usually just use rule of thumb, 3kW = 4hp and 2lb-ft = 3Nm
    An it harm none, do as ye will
