427's are not small blocks. I dont know the exact line, but a 390 and under is a small block engine, and anything over is a big block. Thats my opinion, but i dont know if there is a system for this.

the new 427's are small blocks, back in the muscle car heyday of muscle cars for chevy it usually was 350 or anything made wiht them, was a smallblock, anything bigger was a big block.

Yea, the LS7 (427ci, 7.0L) is based on the same LS2 block (6L). Its actually physically smaller due to having a dry sump oil system.

All the mags call the LS2 a big-block and the LS1 a small-block. It's what, .3 liter? I believe the '06 will have an LS2, while the '05 has a C5 Z06 enigine. So I guess 427's from LS2's are big-block 427's and from LS1's are small-block ones. I believe the Lingenfelter will be around 600hp, that's hawtness.

The 2005 Corvette has an LS2, as well as the 2005 GTO.
The LS7 is a small block, even chevy calls it that.
