Best I've gotten so far is 5:56.2 w/out set-up and in 2 tries. I think some of these claims may be 'bumped up' so to speak.

3 rhings wrong with that resource, 1 its not an official statement from GM, 2 even if it was i wouldn't trust GM, 3 there's no actual time provided it coulda been 4 minutes or 7 min 59 seconds

the preproduction is different from the production model and would have differnt lap times, just like horsepower and torque figures the manufacturer provided stats are horribly unreliable

ive done the ring in a non modified ZO6 in 7:43. ive broken the 7 minute mark with most race cars and the 6 minute mark with the Toyota minolta, R8 and F1 car

GM and ive seen the data on all the Corvette sites, if you wanna question it then you might as well question most of the BMW, Porsche testing data as well seeing they may have lied also

i do, i dont trust any of the manufacturer provided times unless there's a video or a third party witness or if a 3rd party test had similar results

like ill trust the gm one if say top gear ran it in 8 minutes, the 4 seconds coulda easily been made up from a guy who drives the car every day for 3 weeks on that track vs even an experienced race driver with the car fresh outta the box so to speak
