The 67' Fastback is the definitive Mustang IMO.

I knew that manufacturers had a bad time with the oil crisis and emmissions in the 1970s, but this just staggers me.

    1972 351 V8 - 275bhp
    1973 351 V8 - 156bhp

I can't believe it is possible to get such a small ammount of power out of such an engine.

I think it looks quite meaty though. Definately the last good looking Mustang IMHO.
Not a huge fan of the earlier cars either. I'm a fan from 1967 - 73. If the current one had looked more like the concept I'd probably be a fan of that too, but there are a few changes that completely ruin the design for me.
    Thanks for all the fish

Yes, sad but true. Although, that doesn't tell the whole story, the 266hp Q-code 351 Cleveland 4-barrel was also available on the '73's. My dad drives one

That compares the 4-bbl '72 engine to the '73 2-bbl engine. the 2-bbl and 4-bbl Cleveland motors use completely different cylinderh heads, intake manifolds, and exhaust manifolds, besides the carb size. It's thus really not much of a comparison. There was a 2-bbl 351 available in '72 as well with a similar output to the 156hp of the '73 spec motor.

Put simply, BOTH of those engines were available in BOTH years, and they were actually not very much changed from the '71 engines except for how the power was measured.
