And actually it would be too perfect, so someone at Fiat would almost certainly cancel it in fear that it might outsell the Alfa Spider...

That would be an interesting reversion on the trend (Beetle, 500, etc...) of retro cars switching their drive from aft to forward.
I think that they should have built this, regardless of drivetrain, because it is one of the very few stylistic good'uns to come out of Lancia's styling department in recent memory.
