Doesn't Matter If CL 65 AMG and SL 65 AMG are heavy

if u got 738ft-lbs torque around 2000-4000 rpm it dont really matter about weight

It does not really matter, not dont.

And yes weight can matter. It effects handling and stability during corners.

    Yes it does.

When you've reached the top of an alpine pass and are faced with an hour's decent through tight hairpins every 100 metres you definately don't want to be in either of those Benzs.

The brakes and tyres will probably be in tatters before long - and you'll end up crawling along at the pace of a mule.

And, yes, handling affects handling ability and performance.
    Thanks for all the fish

those cars are made to run in straight line, and very fast. But in corners they show they´re not true sport cars

They're not true sports cars because they're not sports cars. They're just tourers, go from one side of Europe to the other. Just try to avoid alpine passes.

like coventry and d-quick said, yes it doesnt matter if your on an airport runway, but if your driving thru the alps or something, its hard to drive fast constantly. like the hummer h2 terminator. 700 horsepower and something like 800 lbs of torque, sure itll haul, but going around corners the weight will hurt it
IF ANYBODY KNOWS ANY INFO REGARDING FERRARI ENZO SERIAL NUMBERS/ (COLORS IN) LOCATIONS/ ANYTHING AT ALL THAT IS RELATED TO THIS....PM ME WHAT YOU KNOW. THANKS

It seems like Mercedes has become fairly clever in recent years with actively controlled suspensions and variable assist steering which allows drivers to control the car as if it was much lighter but all testers say that it wipes away road feel. The Mercedes SLR is a very fast car around a track, in fact it was the quickest on Top Gear's track for a couple weeks but they still didn't like it because it felt so vague. So technically I guess you're right, a car can be heavy and still be effective at going fast. But unless your a poser, you want some soul and feel to the car in addition to speed.

Ok......No one has actually said it yet, even though it seems to be slightly implied.

They seem to be much more for people who are used to rolls royces and maybachs but want to drive themself every so often, and want a little dose of power added in. Yes they can go fast straight line.........but when they try to corner, moving all that momentum is gonna be a B*TCH!

Dude, stop making threads trying to make your Benz sounds like the greatest thing ever. But yeah, it matters.

Thats not the point hec. The point is the guy said that weight does not matter. Just by some very simple (and thousands of complicated ones) that statement is stupidly wrong. He never said they were not good cars. He said the person was being ignorant of the laws of physics in trying to make the car better in his own mind.
