The manufacture of the most successful supercar in history has come to an end. Production of the Carrera GT at Porsche’s facility in Leipzig, Germany, concluded on Saturday, May 6, 2006, bringing to a close the latest series in a line of ultra-exclusive and ultra-performing automobiles from Porsche.
While looking around hte patent office files I came across these . . .
Amazing the extent to which they protect their design.
And finally . ..
There's much more on the car but it's not so interesting
everything is interesting for me...

Why did they get a U.S patent? so Gm wouldn't copy it? lol
Sick carrera gt silver is the best color. Would you consider a tt package by hennessey a sin on this car?
For me, yes.Originally Posted by Viper007

The patents are pretty basic.
Just picturs of the car from the different views.
The reason though is that it means you can't make a replica and you also have to pay royalties even for Toys that look the same.
Ferrari, porsche, Honda, Yamaha, Piaggio, Lexus, Toyota and many more now do it.
is there any pics of the porscha carerra gt4?
No Idea. . . . probably.
Do a search

Unfortunately the all of the US patent drawings I have seen are so ham-fisted and inaccurate, you could probably argue that an exact copy of the CGT (or whatever car it was) didn't actually contravine the patent, because it isn't the same as what is shown in the drawings.Originally Posted by 90ft
I don't know if it is the same for the patent drawings in other countries.
Why can't they submit CAD drawings that are 100% accurate to the actual design they are trying to protect?
Or even just get someone who can draw a bit better?
Thanks for all the fish
Looking at this Porsche is almost better than sex.
