On that list, South Park. But in the last 6 months I've become addicted to Law and Order SVU. Ice T plays a cop. Oh the irony...

is it the American version ?
If it is, I wouldn't hold your breath.
Seemingly they didn't' get the point of the characters in the original "the office" and so changed things - dumbasses

If it's the Ricky Gervais version you are in for a treat

The pilot got ripped last year because "it was too depressing" We'd heard they did some rewrites on the characters and the storylines.

Seemingly they didnt' get the point of Gareth and had ruined him as a character.

"It is funny because of the misery and hopelessness of the situation and Americans would never be able to get their heads round this simple fact.

The problem is Britain celebrates sarcasm, ugliness and failure. Americans celebrate optimism, good teeth and success."

See http://homepage.mac.com/elliottday/theoffice/index.html for a great insight into Gervais' world

The problem for us, is watching the US version isn't very funny at all as the characters aren't as "Stuck in the office" as the Brit one's are and we're used to the level of nbitchiness adn not-caring about anyone that pervades the set. The US one is too loud, brashy and TRYING to be funny. If I viuewed them the other way round it might be dofferent.

I don't actually watch that many series on the television, so many of these are far from familiar to me. Ok, my top three animated series(no order) Family Guy, Futurama & Simpsons, followed closly by South Park. Two other superb comedy series that come to mind are Flying Circus and Fast Show. In drama I like 24(only seen the first season) and Stargate...
Twin Peaks was scary back in the day(the re-runs wasnt) and so was X-Files(sadly the series just got worse and worse). CSI and Sopranos are ok too, but I haven't had time to keep up with the plot.

So you've already seen the episodes we're expecting in America? That's odd.

I'm not into many American shows.

I like Friends, and of course all the toons; Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, Beavis and Butthead etc, but otherwise, they don't do it for me.

My favourite show is Monty Python.

Given these choices, The Sopranos comes first, On their last season now. I hope it goes out with a bang. both this and 6 Feet under havbe some funny and dramtic stuff at the same time, as well as nicley performed acts of violece and drug use. Most people dont see these shows because they are exclusive to HBO even tho the sopranos aired on a canadian channel for a wile. And I actually seen James Gandolfini in NYC about 2 years ago. Then South Park.
