I like the paint job that is only black, that looks awesome. The silver doesn't look that bad either.

Silver - no stripes, I like to be different. I think that it almost looks like an entirely different car without the stripes.

Yes, but why have the vinyl stripes as "standard" and the painted stripes as a cost option?

Are they afraid that some people won't be able to afford those few extra thousand on top of a car worth hundreds of thousands?

Mind you - having seen how much they charge for the options they can go take a flying leap. I'd never buy one:

Stereo (AM/FM radio, single CD) $4,000
Wheels $3,500
Painted Calipers $750
Painted Stripes $5,000

That stereo had better be the best car stereo in the world for that much, some how I doubt it...

I think ones without stripes will command higher prices in a few decades. I didn't even realise you could get ones with absolutely no stripes so they must be very rare.

I agree that you wouldn't be particularly bothered about the cash value if you were spending that ammount of money, my issue is on the principal.

The new Ford Fiesta ST has optional body stripes - top and side (same layout as on the GT) - £200.00

Thats $375.

So why is a virtually identical set of graphics on the GT 10x that much?
