    The Plot thickens

"A decorator who was seriously injured in a high-speed crash caused by Prince Naseem Hamed has been charged with dangerous driving following an incident involving the boxer's wife.

Anthony Burgin, 40, was arrested in May following an alleged near miss with Hamed's wife, Eleasha.

She was driving near her home in Sheffield when the alleged incident happened.

Mrs Hamed, whose three young sons were in the vehicle, called the police.

Burgin was seriously injured in May 2005 when Hamed, who was travelling at 90mph in his £320,000 Mercedes McLaren on the wrong side of the road, smashed head-on into his VW Golf."

So Burgin is being charged? Is he now being charged for the incident with Naseem Hamed? Or is this a seperate offence charge?

Same way you crash a manual: fail to miss something solid and in the way.

yeah but it must be twice as hard to crash since you have 2 less things to worry about while driving: clutch and gears.

no i mean personally, im currently learning to drive, and i find that when driving a manual you have to concentrate alot more on the clutch and gear shifting so less attention is on the road and cars around you. It seems to me that crashing an automatic would be harder to do.

If you've only ever driven manual to start with, then you don't know have to worry about it anyway it just comes natural.

You're only having to concentrate on the mechanics of driving because you've not built up the muscle memory and experience yet.
Once you have, changing gear is second nature and you will be inherently safer in a manual. Having the option of using the clutch and gear change gives alternatives to get out of trouble
