She got in her VL calais today and said it felt like shit, I think she is warming to the Gen2 But the VL will be fixed this week.

Rang a exhaust joint they told me the VC manifold has differnt ports to the VB engine

Without knocking the VL, any new car (even a Daihatsu Charada or a Kia) would feel pretty good compared to a near 20 year old car. Most of that will be because the new car has a much tighter body that hasn't been knocked lose on Australia's shocking roads over the last twenty years. Of course the Proton may not last as long as the VL did before it too goes off and feels like shit.
Maybe time to restore the Calais, take it off your nephew and keep it as a future classic? Use the Proton as the daily driver.
