    F1 archive is a mess

I have been looking through the F1 cars listed on this site and it's a bit of a mess.
There are cars listed in four of five years and cars with the wrong names in the wrong years.

So here are some corrections for anyone interested - scant few I suspect.
These are as best I know. They may not be 100%

    Ferrari 246 1960 - is actually - Ferrari 156 1959
    Lotus 16 - belongs in 1958 or 59
    Ferrari 156 1961 - is actually Ferrari 156A 1963
    Ferrari 1512 1964 - is actually - Ferrari 158Aero year is correct
    Mclaren 73 M23 - belongs in 1974
    Tyrrell 009 1979 - is actually - Tyrrell 010 1980
    Ram March 01 1983 - is actually - March 831 1983

Now some of them may not be 100% as I said.
But the rest are correct if you take out duplicates in all but he first possition listed.

    Your welcome.

What we do is list the years the cars were active in Formula 1, not so much the production years. Thanks for your input, but I'm pretty sure the info is on the up and up:

The car pictured is Ferrari 246 Dino F1 s/n 0006R2
    Lotus 16 - belongs in 1958 or 59
The Lotus 16 raced in Formula 1 from 1958 up until 1960
    Ferrari 156 1961 - is actually Ferrari 156A 1963
    Both of them are pictured.
    Ferrari 1512 1964 - is actually - Ferrari 158Aero year is correct
Take a close look at the picture and count the exhaust pipes
    Mclaren 73 M23 - belongs in 1974
Again years of activity are 1973 - 1975
    Tyrrell 009 1979 - is actually - Tyrrell 010 1980
Both cars look similar, but the 1980 livery is quite different. It's most certainly a 009.
    Ram March 01 1983 - is actually - March 831 1983
My book lists no 831, but refers to the 1983 car as a Ram March for reasons explained in the write up.

If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

Well, I think comments like this should be greatly appreciated as they show that people actually take the trouble of going through the pages. To call the archive a "mess" is a bit far-fetched, but of course things can always be improved.

Yeah the mess part was removed a couple of weeks ago.

Jeopardy. Although its payout is nothing like Who Wants to be a Millionare, it is about 100X harder. Jeopardy was the original trivial game(not actually) but it was around way before these stupid new ones that are, for the most part, ridiculously easy and stupid.

Hardly. Input like yours is very valuable; it keeps me sharp and ensures the quality of the content, which is important for us and the site's visitors.
