so let me sum up the things u guys just said: my pic is ulgy and the car is special.

Yes the car is special indeed, but there's nothing wrong with the quality of my pic. The car is in the center of the pic, i even waited till the ppl were away from the car so that i could take a clear shot

i didnt say your pic was ugly, I just said that JP was voting for you only because of the content of the pic. Your pic is good but we'll have to wait and see the other entries before deciding who to vote for.

I thought the whole point of the comp was to choose the better photographer..not the person who is able to find flashier, rarer cars.

thats a very good point. my original post included "thats the best pic of the rossa ive seen" but i edited it out because i though that would be a little too much sucking up. i really like the angle, it shows the side (best feature) really well. Yes, i love the car and ill admit that had something to do with it. which would you rather hang on your wall, a artsy fashion photo of some dude or a paparazzi pic of a chick? ill be more objective next time.

hotmail can be slow, ive sent files to myself and its taken a long time for them to be appear in my inbox.

the radiators and oil coolers are right behind the rear wheels so i assumed that was the source. does oil make flames like that? it was only in "bursts" , the flames were not coming out over the whole lap. ive lit gasoline but never lit oil, so maybe thats not what oil would look like...

nobody said your pic was bad, but there are other better pics. your picture doesnt capture anything particularly special or eye catching, except the car.

and for the record, just putting it in the center of the picture is not proper composition. it is called the rule of thirds, so you cant argue your pic is good because its just in the center.

I have never said that my pic was the best or good in any way.
And i dont wanna argue abt it.

I also have never said that putting the car in the center is common rule for a good pic.
Putting a car in the center is my decision for a good pic so that's what i did.
It's just that there were entries in the past where a photographer cutted the front or the back of the car and still got many votes/ even won.
With that angle and that range from the car it seems (to me) that was the best way to make the pic. (whether u like it or not)

So it seems that entering pics of rare cars seems to be wrong cos we will always have discussions abt this. I will not enter this pic for this week's competition.

nobody said entering pics of rare cars was wrong. it's your entry and i wasn't criticising. I was just having a very small go at JP for saying he would vote for you because of the content without waiting to see what other people would post, which could be better overall photographs. After all, this is a photo contest not a race car sighting competition.

What is it then? I was under impression it was a GT3 racing spec car, like they use in the Carrera Cup.

Actually it looks like it was actually a 911 turbo.
