    It's blurred, which means you moved the camera while the lens was open. It would have been a great shot if you had a tripod.

    wrong. i have never had a lens that closes

    that would be the shutter your talking about, or, in the case of a point and shoot, the period of time that the sensor was recording the image.

    ok you know what, it was 2am i was looking out my hoitel room window and i think it looks cool like that kind of like its painted, so even though i wont win, i have it as my background cuz its my favorite pic ive taken

    I advise you leave that lot well alone, get yourself a Canon Ixus 40. Amazing quality, my mum bought one, and I haven't been able to put it down. I'll wait for the next comp to show you what I mean...

    Pros for Ixus:
    -Neat size
    -Amazingly quick start up time
    -Amazingly quick shutter time
    -Gorgeous looker
    -Pretty cheap now, less than 200 notes (Brit) off Amazon
    -Great movies
    -2 inch LCD screen
    -4.1 megapixels

    Cons:
    -LCD can get scratched, but easily ironed out
    -Everyone wants to nick it
