Jaguar XKR (X150) Goodwood Special 2009

    Goodwood Special XKR

As well as performance enhancements and a louder exhaust, this one-off XKR, based on a MY10 vehicle, features 21-inch wheels and a lowered ride-height. The exterior also stands out with a unique Lime Green paint scheme and XKR exterior graphic along with satin graphite detailing to the front grilles, headlights, door mirrors, side window surrounds, rear signature blade and bonnet louvres.

If only it didn't have garish lime green paint, ricer decals and stupid drug dealer wheels...

Those wheels are quite nice, but, really? Lime green...on a Jag...?

Sounds very good, and really was driven hard up the hillclimb. It takes balls to slide around Molecombe corner and this did so effortlessly. It really is a great car, and the paint is alright in person, it just needs acclimatisation.

Are they utilizing a color dartboard to choose the colors? Also louder exhaust? I generally hate that as a selling point. Performance upgrades is good, louder exhaust is like stickers. Oh yeah it has those too.

I don't think this is going to see any sort of dealer, so for the sake of a racing event, louder exhausts are welcomed.

British racing green would've been a little more appropriate for this car.

No I don't mean it's necessarily a bad thing, its just a gimmick though to me, like stickers. If its louder because of engine changes that increase power, that's one thing, but I'm noticing that more and more cars are marketed as louder just to be louder, and I think that's a little phoney.

As I said in this case it looks like its probably from some actual performance upgrades which is ok, its just funny to advertise that one thing.

On the worse end of the scale is, I think the new Jetta? That has an electronic mechanism to make the engine sound deeper though it has absolutely no change. I think that's just silly.

It is British racing green; it only appears to be this color due to redshift caused by high velocity. It's all rather technical.

I like it, but I'm known to have weird tastes.

Good stuff Tim. I literally laughed out loud.

As for the car; I doubt it has a manual and the bodykit is shitty, but I find myself strangely attracted to it.
