    Egg Nog's "What is it?" #5 - [Week of Jan.26 2004]

    To celebrate ringing in the eighteen years of my life, here's this week's "What is it?", as I would've posted it even if it wasn't my birthday Good luck guys

    ~~~~~~~~~~
    Guidelines:
    1. Only one guess per user every week.
    2. Your post should consist only of the car of your guess*, and no "proof" may be posted. If this occurs, you can expect that the post will be edited.
    *Except of course if you're just wishing me a happy birthday
    3. The first user to post a correct answer is that week's winner.
    ~~~~~~~~~~

    IMPORTANT: Please, just guess what you think the car is. Try to avoid external research, etc. because it will ruin the nature of the game. There is really no way to enforce this, so it will be on an honour system. Besides, there will be no prizes other than the huge respect that you will gain from the other users

    Have fun, and good luck!

    -Shawn

    Export model (note the left hand drive, unless the photo has been flipped) Caterham Seven. It can't be a Westfield because it doesn't have all of the boy-racer plastic bits stuck onto it and it isn't painted in some loud, lurid colour!

    So, what do we win, anyway?

    OK, spent some time around a few of the Lotus 7 look-alikes.

    Hmm. hard to tell if the damper is inboard.

    Anyway, not a Caterham ( unless it's the new one they're developing with in-board shocks )
    Not a Lotus.
    Not a Birkin, lights are wrong. ( which brings up one point, with so few details it's hard. Many small manufacturers - esp. kits - change minor details liek the rear lights )
    Not the Dutch company - they're rear end is rounded more.
    Not the right window for a Silva.

    The bonnet line seems unusual - or is that a lighting trick ??
    The Tiger bike engined kits have an unusual boneet line that is a little bit simlar.
    It could be a Westfield SEIGHT with the monster V8 ? But the front suspension isn't right

    Can't tell how deep the door opening is but it doesn't look right for a Robin Hood. But I've not seen the new aluminium monocoque body version yet.

    BUT the Silva's the only current one with inboard dampers. Can you give me a better look at that front suspension ?

    How long has it been manufactured ?
    If it's a new announcement, you're making it too difficult.

    Exhausted my recollection for tonight.
    I'll think a wee bit about it, there are a couple of other 7-copies I've seen but can't remember the make/model

    I'm not going to delete the last two posts, because I don't want to just get rid of the effort that you put into those posts. However:

    Guys, please! The rules are right at the top! Just post your guess! I'm sorry, but next time this happens, your post will be removed. Consider yourselves warned.

    no need for debate, the rules were clear.
    SORRY

    I just got carried away trying to identify it and I wrote my ramblings.

    I'm still frustrated by the lack of details in those front wishbones, so any chance of clearer picture ??
