1/2 Series in the US?

Sorry to bring up an old thread but it turned into a kind of discussion of grammar and Australians. Since BMW is now bringing diesel cars into the US might we also be seeing a launch of the 1 series to compete with the A3 and even the GTI?

I don't think the 3-door will reach the US, maybe the 5-door hatchback. As far as I know Audi only sells the Sportback there, don't they?

You are correct and since they only sell the 5 door the S3 will be unavailable for the time being here. What I don't understand about them being afraid to hurt VW R32 or GTI sales is that they sell both in Europe without to much of a problem (don't they have to compete there to?).

Well apparently I was wrong, since BMW is bringing the 3-door 135i and 130i models eventually. I guess it won't be long until Audi brings there the S3 too.
