Nah, it wasn't an article... I was just going around looking at MPG specifications and comparing and found this pretty interesting.

I thought the Z06 had it, too. Hm, wonder where I heard it.

i wouldn't be too suprised at that, havn't driven it so i don't know. but when i had the VX clubsport 255kw push rod, i fueled up from melbourne (intersection of bell and hume hwy) all the way to Parramatta in Sdyney, crusing average 100km/h. so it did almost 1000kms on a 75litre tank. in the city, max i got up to was about 15L/100km, so if you on the freeway a lot, i don't see why the covette can't do around 14 to 15L 100km average.

    sounds like fun, and inexpensive........in a way.....lol.

anywayz, the corvette has been known for havin good gas mileage for its engine size/power, so i wouldn't doubt the z06 really gettin that much gas mileage.

Unless there isn't anywhere to fill up and you find that you only have enough fuel for 1/2 a lap.

It's like Jeremy Clarkson said about the Ford GT around the track, "4mpg!!!!!!!!". You would have do drive like a saint to get those figures.

Only the EPA numbers should be used to compare or judge.
They attempt to provide a standard measuring technique.
It's easy to get good numbers in cities with few trafic lights and little traffic
It's equally easy to get excellent highway figures on long straigh sections - especially if a little downhill is included
