    my car got flooded..

Last Friday there was a heavy storm in my area....

when my brother drove to pick up my dad from work, he drove into some water that goes up to the door handle level..
now water got into the engine and the pistons seized... prob not worth it to swap another engine or rebuild the engine.. (we drive a 1992 Camry V6).. and dunno if any other parts got damaged neither..

so upset now... prob have to shop for a cheap used car...

Why did he drive throught a puddle that deep anyway? Sounds pretty stupid to me.

well he didn't know.... by the time he realized it's that deep, it's too late...
it didn't help that the rain came so quick that the entire street became a 3-foot deep river within half an hour.... some cars were just floating in parking-lots... quite a lot of cars and basement got screwed in less than an hour.... pretty bad...

Because it's so obvious how deep a puddle is from the surface...

My friend did the same thing in his 4x4 V6 Sierra. The puddle he drove through wasn't that deep, he just wasn't aware that his air intake was quite so low down...

If you know the road it is, and he must have seen cars before him going through it. And if it is up to the door handle, then it isn't a puddle
