its still milking a popular franchise through other means, and in this case with a RTS. However, reading through the FAQ and bungie forums, it sounds half promosing. Im not a fan at all of RTS games, too much time taken to build up infrastructure and management of economy make for a boring game, im more for the get up and go games such as BF2 and COD2. Saying that, the trailer itself doesn't say shit for the actual gameplay, its just a pre-rendered trailer to make us go ooh and ahh, which it kinda does.

Im betting Dawn of War ( a strategy game i actually like ) will still wipe the floor with it.

Oh gawd...AOE3 was a drag, a long and boring one which was bloated with extravagent graphics and gameplay negligence.

Yes, AOE3 was bad, however, the first 2 were decent, and I hope they follow those routes instead.

Ad. - MS has given Ensemble the rights to develop the game. Bungie will only be called for assistance, most likely in what the Elites/Soliders do, how they act, etc., etc.

Right now though, I hear it's a X360 title only. Unforunately, I dislike console RTS' as they don't compare to a superior mouse and keyboard. With Vista coming though, hopefully a port is capable.

yes, completely different. The storyline is based around the conflicts before Halo 1 and 2. This means that alot of emphasis on earth's first battles with their not so handsome foe's (if you were actually active enough to read the Halo 1 instruction booklet, the story filler will tell you a little bit ) This means being able to control squads, or a number of spartans at any one time.

Halo 3 is a completely different storyline, and will be the final installment of the Halo FPS series.

wouldn't that mean the single player campaign will be one long string of defeats? except for the spartans who nEvAr lose, lol.

Im sure the story line will be tweaked in one way or another, however, the humans in alot of the campaigns (the comics, novels) actaully won alot of victories.
