The F1 inspired semi-auto shifter would prob. help the F430 take off a second or two. I guess that helps.

Damn, this is pitting my favorite car (F430) against another of my got to get cars (Z06). I hate to say it, but the F430 would have to outhandle and outbrake the Z06 by a large margin in order to compensate for the Z06's higher HP and torque. I'll pick the Z06 by a small margin over the F430.

    check out the power/weight ratio.
    They're within a gnats-ba'-hair
That;'s why I think it will be close and that the torque gearchange rates will coem in to play.

Which makes it even closer-Corvette's got the most torque, Ferrari's got the better gearbox. Call me mad, but from the praise I've been hearing and from the info I've seen I'd have to go for the Corvette by maybe about .7 seconds.

Of course, but up the hill I think Corvette would gain the most-I would think (again this is just my opinion) that at the corkscrew and hairpin the F430 would gain considerably, but not enough to pass.

Am I missing something, or the Z06 really have that bad of handling? I mean I doubt it's a worldbeater, but I doubt it's bad, I've read they are actually good handling cars.

I think they are, but it's a very safe bet that the ferrari has INCREDIBLE handling, where the corvette may have very very good handling. There might be enough straights that the fat torque band of the corvette may be able to just pull it right out of the corners. From what I know of l.seca there are several turn-straight complexes, and not too many complex corners.

Still, I think i'd bet on the ferrari. It's just what the car was made to do. Better brakes, better gearbox, and a more race oriented suspension. Not to say it wouldn't be close, but you've got a race car turned into a road car and a road car turned into a semi-racer....ferrari just knows what they're doing.
    And Iraaaaaaaaaaaan
