    Unknown Bugatti

    Thomas Bscher´s secret Project??
    And then, suddenly, it´s there!!!
What seems to be the next project of the VW owned new Bugatti firm and successor to the EB16.4 Veyron that will start being delivered in a few months time, is actually an unknown car, spotted at a carshow in England. The car is named Bugatti Speedster, with badges on all sides, and the Bugatti name in big letters on the rear.

The first guess is that it must be a home-build project of some kind, maybe even VW (beetle that is, 4 pots, not 16) powered. However, when inspecting the pictures, the build quality seems to be quite high, and the design really professional. Than the Pininfarina signs on the side are there also... maybe it is some unknown project from the EB110 Era after all?? Maybe a private project on EB110 basis?
    Photo´s from Tim in London

    Any info please?

A Ferrari 355 met somebody with very bad taste and a lot of power tools.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

It's clearly a 355. But I wonder why someone did that! It looks even older than a 355 with those forms

Yeah, i would rather keep a nice clean Ferrari 355 than attack it with fiberglass etc. Have to say though, it does look as if the guy spent alot of time on it. Still, its just not right in my mind.

Although saying that... i justfound this -

Hope this answers some questions from “Tim in London”.!!

This is a rare concept car offered to a number of major players in the sports car world for possible volume production. Three were made in the mid 90 nineties, 2 speedsters and one fixed head, before the project was shelved. Unfortunately the other speedster no longer exists. I understand this was the only one badged in Bugatti trim as offered to Bugatti for possible production.

Manufactured by EB-M in South Africa and believed to have connections to the pininfarina studios in Turin, Italy. Styling similar to Bugatti, Lamborghini and Ferrari.

E.B.M. marketed a similar car afterwards as the Tazio Spyder, see: www.autoindex.org. EBM ceased trading around 2000.

Mechanically the vehicle has an advanced suspension set- up from Audi of Germany. Power being provided from the USA in the form of the provenChevy 350c.i High OutputV8 mid-mounted. Trans axle is from Audi.

The vehicle needs to be viewed to fully appreciate its fine engineering excellence.

    Just a couple of details:
It was first registered in the UK in 2000
    Has only covered 3100 miles
Just in case it gets spotted again, the car is now registered as “R6BBV” not “7 DPW”.

It is privately owned by me and is currently for sale!

All the cars designed by Pininfarina looked similar back in the era. It's simply a Pinin designed with Bugatti engineering.

    Hi,
I can tell you all about the mystery Bug. It has a Finite Element Anaalysed carbon steel spaceframe chassis, Tubular steel fabricated double wishbone front suspension with Spax coil over pneumatic damper front suspension and
Parallelogram lower control arm , fabricated hubcarrier with trailng link rear suspension with Spax coil overs at the rear. Drivetrain is Blue printed Chev 5.7 l v8 with Holley 650 cfm dble pumper and 280 Edelbrock cam = 420 hp.
    Total mass 100kg = Power to wt ratio of 400/ton = O to 100km/hr =- 5 sec.
5 speed Audi Transaxle. Remember : Force = Mass x Accelearation. The (Bug nee Tazio) is half the loaded mass of the donor with twice the accelleration =
the box does less work here.

Maybe it's Ettore Bernoletti or something...
