Hm. Still not impressed. Looks like it was designed with a ruler. And CVT ain't my bag...

And why not Formula 1? Or rally?

And who wants to go the same speed backwards? Top speed is about 100mph and going 100mph backward in that doesn't seem smart!

The DAF Marathon was a well known Rally car.

IIRC one F1 team (Williams ?) tested a CVT system, but it was banned by the FIA before ever really tested.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

thre were a few in google, but http://people.zeelandnet.nl/daff/foto/daff.jpg doesnt' do the car justice - or maybe the bashed state IS a reflection of the car

It's funny, kind of reminds me of the bastard son of a Hillman Imp and a Triumph Herald.

no this is the Daffodil, a 750 cc luxury version of the original 600. Americans would call it a facelift.
It's successor was the Michelotti designed 44, still operating with the flat twin, and when Volvo took over, they turned it into the 66, and installed a four pot renault engine in the car.
