some old and extremely strange cars that none of us will probably ever hear about !!
some common known models are the Peugeot 504, Dacia 1301, Dogan, Hyundai Accent and Fiat 128.
most of them are in bad shape and are a nuisance to ride in. the meters dont work and u need to argue with the driver about how much u pay. its all about communication skills, and sometimes physical strength !!

as for Canada, there are a lot of Ford Crown Victorias and many early 90s american models, such as pontiac grand prix, oldsmobile cutlass and ford taurus. at least this is in Halifax. maybe eggnog or mechanixfetch can give us insight on taxis on the west coast !

I haven't ridden in many calgarian taxis but the ones I see are mostly newer Impalas, and Crown Vics

i think ford have pretty much pulled out of the taxi business here though, toyota have fairly quicly said they want to start supplying Avalons with factory dual fuel kits as well so i guess the car's image is about to get worse

Well we've the British black taxis in all the cities.
big growth in people carriers - Galaxy/Sharon addn he small Nissan one (don't remember the name)
Majority of small town taxis are 10 year old Fords, Vauxhalls and Japanese.
M-B are too expensive over here in the UK ( most expensive in Europe ) and are only the 'luxury' and airport taxis

to think the government's trying to increase public transport, so they go off and sign a deal with Toyota for them to supply the Avalon's. If it wasnt for the bad image being a Taxi brings, Ford shouldve stayed in the game, but now in NSW at least theyve agreed to supply the highway patrol with batches of XR6T's so looks like the XR6T's set to build even more cred to the BA range
