it comes with a warranty, right? thats a pretty good safety blanket.
plus, with a US made ford, you might need it too

    UPDATE:

after checking in, a person from Bob Thibeatu Ford called us and told us about a top of the line loaded Taurus on their lot, which the price can be taken down to 20,000 with all of Thibeatu's rebates. if we trade in the Lemon, we will get the price down to 18,000. But my mom doesn't want to let the piece of shit go. I don't know why, Ive gone mental trying to figure out what she sees in that shitbox.

Oh, come on! What do you mean you can't understand why your mom doesn't want to get rid of a minivan? It's big enough to haul a family around in and isn't inefficient. Plus, for $20,000 you can get a new Sonata, which you even said you'd prefer.

yeah, but Consumer Reports rated the Jetta with a below average reliability rating. We are not buying a European car if our lives depended on it due to the heavy amount of electrical glitches.

let me get this strait; your not even going to consider a highly rated euro car because some consumers report electrical problems, but you are seriously favoring an american which is reported to have techinical glitches from now to then? not to mention the taurus is just a tad old. lets be honest, Prius.
