It's not based on the members of the forums, more like all the people looking at the website at that one time. Guests, as you've probably seen, make up for about 300 on average of all those online, so I'm guessing that on that day there would have been 700+ guests online, because 100 members on at the same time is already an incredible amount, let alone 895.

That particular day an article was published in a major Amercain newspaper which had a direct link to the site.
Active members are defined as the number of people who posted at least once during the past 2 months. The software allows you to fill in any period for that if you want.

If you want to get big numbers the easiest thing is to create a post with all the common sex/porn words and then trick a submission to the search engines.
Get yourself in the top 3-5 of a sex/porn search will guarantee you hundreds of thousands of visits in the hour the search database updates on that day !!!!!!
A lot easier than trying to organise everyone to come (!) on the same day

maybe active means Users that just log on, because a lot of people log on to see the pics but never post.3,622 active members? Maybe most of them post once in a blue moon, I see the same members everyday for the most part and it's not that many.
