    Ferrari GG50 Concept, pictures!

Italdesign launched the Ferrari GG50 concept at the Tokyo MotorShow, to celebrate 50 years of car design. It has been build on the basis of the 612 Scaglietti.

I was thinking the exact same thing...It may be just a basis for the 575 replacement.

If that's the basis for a 575 replacement then ferrari is dooooomed!
The Ferrari is a model of the past bound to the present to create the future.

Yeah, I really expected something better... Let's hope Ferrari hasn't got any planes with this design. If the replacement of the 575 or maranello looks like this, Ferrari commites suicide...

If thats the new replacement for the Maranello, then Ferrari definately needs help. I can't stand the 612, which is uglier then the 400. If they are going for family resemblance, then their screwed. Big time.

this is a disaster. Italdesign has made some pretty nice cars but this is embarassing. it looks like a japanese imitation of an italian sportscar.

It is not a replacement of anything, it's just a gift from Giorgietto Giugiaro for himself to celebrate his fiftieth anniversary as a designer. Obviously like all great artists he is rarely understood in his own day.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

It probably is based on the 575 replacement - similar proportions to the cars seen in spy shots.

It looks far too "productionised" for a pure concept car.

If it were a pure from-scratch concept to celebrate 50 years of car design you'd hope they'd come up with something dynamic, exciting and with some well thought out design detailling, rather than a 2 door coupe with 575 door handles.

Maybe it is to the new Ferrari GT as the Range Stormer was to the Range Rover Sport.

Anything beyond the centreline of the front axle is just nasty.

It's based off the 612 Scaglietti and has little to do with Ferrari.

Well if it was the new Maranello, Ferrari might have as well commited seppuku.
