    John Buffum was the man.

Elise. Lighter, better handling, 'nuff said.

There's a good chance some parts would fall off the Elise before the finish...so I say the Boxster wins.

    Check it yourself on GT4.
There are some great straights where the power matters, and the Boxster goes very well around corners, so it would probably win. Of course the Elise driver would have a bigger smile than the Boxster driver at the end of the race.

    depends on the track.
The Elise beat the Boxters every time they show up at Knockhill.
You need to get a REAL Porsche to start coming close

In terms of track time, a Boxster S is more efficient than a standard 997. Confirmed by EVO 911 fanboys. So I guess it qualifies as a real Porsche.
Knockhill is very different from the ring, wich has huge straights.

yep, Knockhill is about handling as long as you have "enough" power.
and only just noticed it was round the 'ring ( was that a late edit sunk ?? )
yeah the extra 10mph will make a difference on the long straight and I don't think the hadnling difference woudl make up for it !

    Voting Boxter.

It'll be faster round the straights of the ring which is quite a fast track in many places. What the boxter makes up on the straights, the elise won't be able to make up through the corners.

I may be biased but PORSCHE OWNS..not to mention in the toronto star the Boxster S was selected by the test drivers as most fun car to drive.

yeah but ill be suprised if they tested the elise 'cause it only just reached Canada, so it wouldn't have been declared the best if the elise was around.

I've heard lack luster things about the boxter and I hear only praise for the go-kart-like elise....I go Lotus

    I'm going Boxster.

As M & A said, the long straights plus the long up hill sections will hurt the Elise (VTEC). Plus the Boxter S handling is more neutral so probably you could drive closer to the limit than in the elise (that armco is close to the track!).

Elise seems to be the general concensus.
