equally you could argue that all cars should have flip-up in the event of a multi-lane, multi-car pile up

My view is shit-happens, if it's meant to tbe it's meant to be. If I get trapped in a car then that's it. If I dont' fine too. I'd not liek to try to consider the car design for every eventuality. You'd end up driving an Abrahms to the shops

getting trapped in a car isnt so bad..youll find a way out eventually there is more than just side windows that can be pushed out. the windscreen is laminated glass! that comes out safely.

and...emporer? wot lambo suv? i never heard of a lambo suv...pics?

Gentlemen of "larger build" :cough: :cough: could not get out of the window space with or without any glass there. That's what I thought he meant

It's all right for all you young, skinny ones

Also, I've tried kicking the rear window out of an Escort. It's not as easy as it looks in the movies !!!!!!!

Mine was a toungue in cheek reply. In many real life cases they have to use the jaws-of-life to cut people out of Volvos or other fairly 'safe' cars.

What would be amusing is someone in a Civic with Lambo-doors gets trapped after a flip.

lol yeah but thats only for rich, and 'well built' people with supercars. its not a majority of the world.
why were you kicking out the window?
    lol
in a low supercar the window is probably smaller..that might help...and if its smashed definately.

Thankfully it was NOT one of the times in a ditch
It was post event repair. The rear was smashed and we were welding new rear quarter and wings on after an altercation with some Scots Pines
Rather than doing it the official window removal way I reckoned it would be easier to go in, swiing from the roll cage and kick it out - we had plenty spares. I failed !. Everyone ended up having a good laugh and taking the piss out of me for days after

If it's smaller it would be harder Smashing the glass relies on leverage from the edges. The larger the easier. Smalle rand there is NO chance I'd get out

I read in a modified: luxury and exotics magazine that in a side impact it's safer to be in a car with scissor doors. they said that if you needed to get out its easier than in a car with conventional doors.

What would be awesome is if the scissor doors were powerful enough to flip it back over again.....
