    DeTomaso Pantera Si (1990-1993)

I know, there already is a thread with 2nd gen Pantera but only specified for Targa so I decided to put the coupe in here.

5.0 litre Ford 305 "Boss" engine tuned to max. output of 305 hp,

All new redesign from Marcello Gandini (draw several Italian sportscars and Group B rallylegends)

Additional bodyparts planned to be made at first of glassfibre, than complete bodywork produced in steel, spoilers partly consisting of carbonfibre.

    8,5x17 inch ET64 / 12x17 inch ET26 fondmetal alloys front / rear

Biturbo with 450 horsepower planned, never produced.

4 Targa built with 6-speed manual gearbox

Including one of the Playmate car's in the 70's, the car has been repainted and still exists. The girl also still exists, she is 75 now. And another Group 4 example with the unavoidable girl.

The cocaine is strong with this one.

So there is a story regarding the De Tomaso Pantera I am unsure I shared here before.

My fellow Canadians, and some of the Americans and others here may know of Tim Horton's, which is the most iconic Canadian chain franchise. They serve breakfast food (coffee, bagels, donuts). It was started by a famous Canadian NHL defender who played for the local team (the Leafs, winning four Stanley Cups).

Tim Horton died in a single vehicle crash driving home from Buffalo to Toronto in a Pantera while high alcohol, stimulants, and depressants in 1974.

So when I see the Playmate and modern model standing with this car, it somehow all makes sense. I want a bagel now.

Thought I'd add some information about my 1972 Pre L Pantera. I've owned it for over 20 years, was almost never driving it because of so many issues, and finally about 7 years ago, made the decision to either make it a car I desired to drive rather than resented or get rid of it. It spend 4 years in restoration/modification and emerged as the car I always hoped it could be. I now drive it every weekend rather than the 5 miles per year I was doing.
