i had an '89 GL 5spd and it went on and on and on. i sold it after racking 300,000km myself, and then i know my brother-in-law put another 150,000 on it after. my buddy also had an '89 GL auto and put on some major mileage too. i'm not much of a domestic fan (N.A.) so the only reason i appreciated the probe was that it had a Mazda engine, not Ford.
my buddy sold his as well and bought a '95 GT, and had nothing but problems. the '89 model definitely seemed superior to the newer models, in mechanical respects anyways. i never thought they were completely ugly, but still in the bottom 1/3 of the global styles available in their respective years.
