    Yeah, they changed it somewhere along the way. I'm actually not sure when that was.

    The entry level models of E21 range had single headlights.

    320 and 323 models had dual headlights...IIRC

    Revo's right.The base models have single headlights (316i and 318i), the 320i and 323i had twin headlights.

    where did u guys get this info from??
    i had a 1979 323 bmw and it had dual lights... and the 1 light 3sereis is a bit different..i think its a bit older and a small facelift was done and then the car used the dual lights

    Facelift of E21 had nothing to do with headlight units.

    Here is a picture of 315 E21 from 1983 brochure.

    The junior team 320. Two cars, I am not sure/doubt wether it is actually the same, the stationary one is owned by BMW, the racing one is not.
