Sony is retarded. I could easily now distibute this on limewire, so their stupid program has done nothing but open a security hole on my machine. Where do I get the patch to fix it?

I didn't read further so I don't know if there is a patch yet.

try ripping it with a program called EAC (Exact Audio Copy), which converts them to .wav, and then with LAME, which is the best mp3 ripper on the net.......

google for both of them, theyre completely free

This is obviously a cheap ploy by sony to bring down apple and the ipod. The sad thing is that it took me about half an hour to get the protection off of the cd, now it will take me another half an hour to fix the damage it did to my comp. If I ever see one of these cds again, ill steal it, just so i dont have to deal with this sh**

I'm really pissed now. Apparently the original software they installed includes a rootkit that allows hackers into the computer, and the 'patch' they realeased to fix the problem includes spyware for sony and causes the system to crash.

Actually, there was a class action lawsuit filed against them on the 1st, but its California residents, which I am not.
