According to Clarkson's Most Outrageous vid, it was 215 mph and 0-60 on 4.0 seconds. Different gearboxes maybe? He was in a race spec one it seems, but one would think that it'd be a race one that would have the shorter 'box.

Yeah I'd imagine it the other way around for a race car, with a lesser top speed but better acceleration.

Facts on this car seem to vary anyway, but I've seen multiple sources mention the 300kp/h stat, which seems to be the most reliable at the moment.

    15.
Here in Germany is number 15 for sale and they told me it is the 15th and last built car of the series.

I've great admiration for the 959, probably the first comfortable supercar that was practical enough for everyday use.

I love the XJR15. It's what the XJ220 could have been if they hadn't switched the 12 cyl. down to the 6 cyl.

uh.. they went with the 6-cylinder because it was lighter and could actually get the power they wanted

There were 50 tubs built by Astec + 1 which was the reference chassis. This last tub was built up into a car and Tom Walkinshaw kept it,It was sold at auction a couple of years ago (like all his cars). The 15 comes from the 15 that were built in race spec for the Intercontinental Challege in 1991. So 51 in all. The rreally rare ones are the XJR15LM's There where 5 (I think) built to this spec by XK Enginering. I believe one Japanese collector bought all of them! The had the race 7 Litres fitted and had the splitters and a snorkle over the roof.
