Many of you who are claiming to fight for Christmas for the sake of Christianity have no idea what it actually means to be Christian. You're just fighting for your "team" as if it were a football game.

Are they ignored by the people who they mean something to? If you are saying Hannuka and Kwanzaa (I dont know what that is) are as much a part of American culture as Christmas maybe they should be observed.

No, it's not as big. Jews and other religions are very much in the minority. 75% vs 25%, or thereabouts. BUT, it wasn't the minority that did the complaining in this instance. The retail stores just figured out that they MIGHT be turning away a few customers by focusing on one religious holiday instead of using more inclusive terms. The White House was also trying to be inclusive by saying Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas on their '05 holiday card. It's the conservative, Christian coalitions that are doing the complaining. They're the ones throwing the fit and trying to reverse the stores' push for inclusivity, even threatening boycotts and lawsuits. Someone earlier in the thread said they hated when people complained in order to get change. Well, this time it isn't the minority complaining. It's the majority complaining to reverse the change that has already taken place.

Wel I will reiterate, I cannot see why hardcore Christians would care if the shops were calling it Christmas or not. I have heard plenty of people complaining how businesses exploited Christmas by commercialising it and compromising the true meaning. All this really does is make the Churches the proper places to go to celebrate the true meaning.

You did the typical thing and skewed this poll to make it seem like you were actually voting for against Christmas in theory - not whether Christmas should trump all other holidays at stores, at the White House and at other public events.

I haven't voted in the poll, because the poll makes no sense.

With all due respect...I think you want to vote against Christmas, because you don't like Christ. The whole idea that somebody died for your sins, but you have to give up your sinful life to live in heaven for eternity is too much of a commitment for you. But you don't vote, because that would make you a hyprocrite, because homosexuals are "forgiving people" and don't judge.

Again I would like to make sure I mean no offense to you, it's just our different points of view in action.
