There's a Silver 1998 996 3.4 on Autotrader, very high miles though (80 something thousand I think) - how long do these engines typically last without huge bills for replacement parts?

Well Porsche are willing to warranty the engine out to 125,000 and 9 years.
You need to check about the oil seal tho' - Porsche GB are doing theese under warranty. Not sure everyeon else is

Jeez, that's not bad...so Matra, a 996 or a 3-series? Considering most of the people around here only buy a 3-series to pose in and not to actually use bootspace or any practical features whatsoever (they also have hatchbacks for all the "dirty jobs"), I think they'd be far better off with one of these cars.

Personally I'll stick with my Tuscan lol, always wanted one.

You could get an A610 for £15-20
Only in France will left-hookers go for the region of £25 !!!

Beats them all on exclusivity and mixed call on performance

    Quite.

A shame it is a bit impractical to import them.

And run them with UK fuel prices...
