do the police even both with trying to chase down crooks?Originally Posted by Clique
Wow, all of them look great. I question about high speed chases with the H1 and 2 though. Both of them take longer than minivans to 60. Offroad chases are another story.
the higway police uses Mercedes CLK with a 6 litre super-charged engine At an emergency in my town came one of those, the engine red-hot.he had to wait for a while to be able to drive further He told he had been doing 250-270 on the highway near my town furthermore there is some vw golf 4 's and some transporters. Also there are some mitsubishi pajero's.Originally Posted by Vaigra

in singapore a cop was a very, very rare occurence. at my School SAS they had Civic drivebys to watch for terrorists. the Gurkas (kinda like counter terrorists in CS with Mp5's and a glock plus a longass knife) got picked up in either a Gclass or Land Rover... sometimes i would see a Volvo cop car on the highway. and once i saw a tank...on the PIE twoards woodlands/causway either that or the BKE towards the PIE to Woodlands/Causway

Not in the astra diesels. Those are just the patrol cars. Other cars used are:Originally Posted by johnnyperl
BMW 530d- This is the normal pursuit car. They go VERY VERY FAST
Range Rover- some rural forces have these, also used unmarked by VIP protection
Land Rover Defender- Normally used at airports, for some reason
Volvo V70- Used by some rural forces
Mondeo ST diesel or ST220- Standard unmarked car
Vauxhall Vectra GSi- Sometimes used as an unmarked car
Jaguar XJ6- I saw a black one once with flashing blue lights under the grille. Either an unmarked car or a senior officer's personal transport.
On a sidenote, some American forces have switched their urban patrol cars to Toyota Priuses (but still use Crown Vics for pursuits), to save on fuel and to sneak up on crooks in "stealth mode". Unfortunately, it is possible to immobilise a Prius from the back seat by blocking the engine cooling vent. I'm waiting for some crook to try this...
