article in rsportscars describes the engine used...basically a tweaked version of the engine used throughout the car's racing history, if anyone out there has followed it.

the Z-tune ran 0-400 meters (a little shorter than a quarter mile) in 10.06 seconds during development. That's more than 6/10 of a second faster than any production car ever tested...NISMO claims more than 500 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque...At $170K each, the Z-tune is a tremendous bargain. In addition to it being a hand-built, obsessively finished and technologically saturated supercar...
    ~excerpt from sportcompactcarweb article.

No doubt the Z-tune has the performance. It's engine revs to 8,000 RPM and produces 178 hp/liter. However, its sheet metal keeps it from being a supercar. Same way a Mitsubishi EVO can run with a 911 but isn't it's direct competition. All the other elements are there though. Awesome car.

the nsx-r isnt in the class for the same reasons the z-tune "isnt" but the z-tune is so much faster i felt it belonged on a performance basis

You have to admit IBrake4Rainbows is right. I mean you have Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini and AM in there and then you throw in a Nissan. Don't get me wrong, I absolutly love the Skyline but think about it.

no no, i def. undertsand that part, i know that the other cars are in a league of their own when it comes to design and interior quality. i was just pissed cuz everyone was saying it had no chance in the performance realm, without knowing that its not just an R34.

I chose the Ferrari. The Porsche and Aston Martin are my other choices, but I chose the Ferrari essentially for it's excellent performance, it's dashing good looks, and it's mid-engined-ness.
