    GC SRT8 vs. Cayenne Turbo

Chrysler is campaigning its new jeep grand cherokee srt8 as faster than the cayenne but half the price. is ther any truth to this or is it jus more chrysler bs they keep spewing?

It does have a slightly better power-to-weight ratio... so it wouldn't really surprise me.

but for how long. A porsche is one thing but then you got Infinti's and BMW's. like seriously. a jeep? c'mon a Ruf Cayenne or Gemballa will kill it. and i'd feeel way better cruising at 150 in a built for speed Porshce then a so called built for off road Jeep. you kno what i mean.

This post annoys me. First, an SUV is not 'built for speed', even though these two will probably never go off road. Second, Jeep is not advertising a more comfortable ride, better handling, and superior technology, just the fact that it's faster. Finally, SRT is Chrysler's official in-house tuner, so the SRT-8 can be equally compared to the Cayenne Turbo S or whatever it's called. Bringing Gemballa or RuF into this makes it an unfair comparison, considering they're NOT Porsche's official in-house tuner, but third party groups that specialize in Porsche.

Iv been in both, and honestly the only thing that impressed me was the Cayennes interior. If it didnt have Porsche on the front of it, it would just be an ugly blob. And I havent been a Jeep fan since the liberty came out. They need to stick to their off road heritage.

    BTW Trailblazer SS owns.

I would rather have the BMW X5 4.4... Or just wait for the Audi Q7 which uses the Cayenne chasis and IMO is better looking than the cayenne...

    Cayenne is the winner,IMHO
GC SRT8 might be faster ,cheaper;so what
Cayenne is in an other category.........
Cayenne is available now even with more power also from factory.(I think 500+ hp)
Wait for September restyling(mainly the front)and it will also look good!

i'd take the SRT8, mostly on appearance, i doubt i could allow myslef to be seen in something that hideous. The cayenne probably handles better, but who cares. The only sort of speed either of these will (and should) ever see is at the traffic lights grand prix.

I agree with baddabang Trailblazer SS owns. revised suspension and a corvette engine. also they start at 31,000 and have roughly the same acceleration as a WRX STi

    a lamborghini lm002
    might not be as fast
    and only gets 8mpg
but its fast enough for me and can actually climb rough terrain
or a land rover defender or humvee
cause they can do what SUVs were meant to do: climb mountains

Perhaps I am in/part of the minority of people who believe the Porsche Cayenne is a beautiful car but I have to agree with your comment in relation to the Porsche Cayenne's interior. The interior of the Cayenne is beautiful.
